How to make a birthday story on Instagram with Animoto
The first step to making your birthday video is signing up for a free account with Animoto! Don't worry, you won't need any special skills or paid upgrades to make your video. Just sign up and get started right away.
Step 1: Choose a template
Templates make it easy to get started. Each free template contains professional animations, colors, animated elements, music, and more to make your photos shine.
For this example, we're using the Birthday Card template linked below. Check out the others that are available to you and choose the one that best suits your friend's personality!

Step 2: add your photos
Now it's time to make your video your very own by adding your photos and videos! Just share photos from your device, download them from social media, or connect to your cloud storage platform like Drive. Then, upload all at once and drag and drop them into your video frames.
step 3: add your message
Add a personalized message just for your loved one to make them feel special on their big day! You can come up with a happy birthday message on your own or check out the birthday quotes in this blog for inspiration.
step 4: customize the look, feel, and sound
Finally, you can take it even further by customizing the colors, animations, and music in your video. Of course, you can always keep it as-is, but this adds a new level of customization to match your loved one's style.
Add their favorite colors or apply different themes (pictured below) to change the colors, font, and animations in a single click.
Once you've found the perfect style, add some music. Click on Music to choose a song to help the star of your video feel your birthday wishes. All of the songs in our library are licensed so they're guaranteed not to be taken down on social media. But if you have the rights to other music you'd like to incldue in your video, you can upload your own music track right in Animoto.

And that's it! Once you have your video just the way you want it, click Export to preview, share, and download the video files.
